Matt Hune (Theatre ’03) and Stephanie Wittels Wachs (Theatre ’99) launch a new, innovative performance space in Houston
In June, Hune and Wachs founded Rec Room, a recreational performance venue producing unconventional original work ranging from live concerts to theatre and dance, comedy and variety shows to film screenings. Their new original show Dead Rock Star Sing-A-Long Club is now playing through September 10 to rave reviews. Also check out their interview on Houston Public Media.

Chris Walker (Jazz ’86) and Mark Simmons (Jazz ’93) return to HSPVA with seven-time Grammy Award winner Al Jarreau
Jarreau performs in the Denney Theatre on Friday, September 9th with Walker on bass and vocals and Simmons on drums. The HSPVA Jazz combo opens the show. All proceeds benefit the Helen and Bob Morgan Jazz Scholarship Fund for HSPVA students at New York’s New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
