The Creative Writing Guild

The Creative Writing Guild is a volunteer group that supports the Kinder HSPVA Creative Writing Department by organizing fundraising activities and providing volunteers for department programs. The Guild is open to all parents, guardians, relatives, and friends of current Creative Writing students.

The Guild’s most important fundraisers are the Fall Fund Drive and the Middle School Workshop. Last year, the Guild contributed significant funds toward the supplies, equipment, guest artists, and field trips that make the Creative Writing education at Kinder HSPVA unique. None of that would be possible without the support of the Creative Writing Guild Fall Fund Drive. Please consider becoming an active part of this great community by donating to the Creative Writing Guild. Any amount is meaningful and appreciated, and our goal for this fundraising drive is an average gift of $250 per family. Most importantly, we hope to have 100% participation from all families.

HSPVA Creative Writing Students with author Chuck Palahniuk
Each fall, the Creative Writing students attend the Texas Book Festival in Austin, where they participate in workshops, see the industry in action, and meet their favorite authors, like Chuck Palahniuk, pictured above! This trip is accessible to all Creative Writing students thanks to the generous support of the Guild.
