Rachelle Mendez (Theatre ’94) is an award-winning television producer — that’s seven Emmy’s, one Producer’s Guild Award, and counting! Her work on unscripted television series like Undercover Boss and the Netflix reboot of Queer Eye are just two in a long list of successful series. Add to the list this year’s Hype on HBO Max, which is Mendez’s first original series. The fashion competition is streaming now, and has officially been renewed for a second season!

Rachelle Mendez is a 7-time Emmy® award-winning producer, developer, and showrunner. She is well known for her work on 5 seasons of Netflix’s QUEER EYE and has been honored with Emmy® award wins for Outstanding Structured Reality Show in 2021, 2020, 2019, and 2018. Most recently, Mendez Executive Produced and Showran Marie Kondo’s SPARKING JOY for Netflix. Mendez also Co-Executive Produced the critically acclaimed LEAH REMINI: SCIENTOLOGY & THE AFTERMATH, for which she won the 2017 Emmy® award for Best Informational Series, and the 2018 Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of Non-fiction TV. To add to her many accolades, Mendez was also nominated for a PGA Award forNonfiction Television of the Year, for her work on UNDERCOVER BOSS and received consecutive Emmy® award wins for Outstanding Reality Program in 2012 and 2013. Mendez is extremely passionate about the art of non-fiction storytelling and ensuring that unrepresented voices do not go unheard. A second generation Mexican American, Mendez was raised in Houston, Texas.
