Kinder HSPVA - Build the Extraordinary

Three Extraordinary Goals

Complete the Campus

To complete the new school’s art area classrooms, performance venues, and common spaces. The campaign will provide the essential components of a fully functional arts campus, including school-wide audio and visual equipment, theatrical and gallery lighting, sprung dance floors, usable outdoor spaces, and build-out of the four theater spaces, including the Denney Theatre, Recital Hall, Black Box, and Studio Theatre.

Make it Last

To create a Repair and Replacement Fund for maintaining a high-performing campus. Technology is constantly evolving, and we must ensure that students—in 2018 or in 2058—are versed in cutting-edge artistic trends. HSPVA Friends is responsible for long-range planning based on the life cycles of musical instruments, dance floors, computers, and theatre technology so that Kinder HSPVA students never miss a beat.

Strengthen Curriculum

To ensure that the arts curriculum will be worthy of the advantages that come with this long-awaited move. Pre-professional arts training requires a high level of specificity. A right-sized campus gives each art area the opportunity to offer more specialized coursework. Students from every walk of life should have access to small group instruction—at school and in Houston’s thriving professional arts sector downtown.

Kinder HSPVA - Build the Extraordinary

As a tuition-free public school, HSPVA has spent 46 years preparing students from across Houston for an ever-changing creative workforce.

Withstanding district budget shifts and inadequate facilities, HSPVA has stayed true to its core principles of trust, focus, creativity, and diversity.

As a result, it is consistently ranked one of the top high schools in the region and top art schools in the country.

Help us build and operate the facility worthy of HSPVA's reputation for excellence.
