In Memory of Dr. Frank J. Battaglia

Dr. Frank Battaglia was a renowned obstetrician-gynecologist and attorney with a passion for jazz music. He was a talented saxophonist, well known throughout the Houston music community. During his time at the University of North Texas, he was a member of the storied One O’Clock Lab Band. More recently, he enjoyed moonlighting with the Houston Symphony.

The Frank Battaglia Fund assists students in the Jazz Program at Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. The fund allows students to access special educational opportunities like masterclasses, private and small group lessons, field trips, and summer programs. It also provides the tangible building blocks of a renowned jazz curriculum, such as musical instruments, repairs, software, and equipment.
